What better way to celebrate Fall than by recreating this super easy and extremely adorable craft! These 3D Paper Pumpkins can be color coordinated to match your home decor and they look great added to your fall decorations. So gather up a few basic supplies, print the free template, and recreate some of your own paper pumpkins!
3D Paper Pumpkins (with bonus SVG)
This is an easy print, trace, and cut activity. However, if you’d rather use your Cricut or Silhouette machine we have a bonus SVG file to share with you. You can find that towards the bottom of the post.
These pumpkins can be made in any color(s) you choose and you can even adjust the size, if wanted, to make larger or smaller pumpkins.
Ready to get started? First gather up a few basic supplies.
Materials Needed:
- Fall themed Cardstock (we LOVE these Autumn Pattern Paper Packs on Amazon)
- 12×12 Cardstock in burgundy, mustard yellow, orange and cream or any Fall-themed colors of your choice
- Green Floral Wire
- Scissors or Wire Cutters
- Pencil
- Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
- Small twigs, approximately 2 inches long (or you could use ¼” wooden dowels)
- Free Printable Template (or SVG file if using a Cricut or Silhouette cutting machine)
Directions:
Find and print the free printable pumpkin template at the end of this post. Cut out one or all of the template pieces to use as a stencil for your pumpkin pieces. Choose a patterned piece of cardstock from your Whimsy or fall-themed paper pack and choose a coordinating fall color to go with it.
Begin tracing your pumpkin template onto each of your chosen cardstock papers. We used 10 pumpkin cutouts for each 3D pumpkin, so if you’re able to get 10 templates traced onto each cardstock page, you’ll be able to make 2 pumpkins.
After tracing each your pumpkins, carefully cut out each piece.
Next, you’ll want to fold each of your pumpkin pieces in half.
With your hot glue gun, begin gluing the pumpkins back to back along the folded seam, alternating the patterns.
Continue gluing your pumpkin pieces together, alternating colors, until you have two sets of five.
Apply glue down the outer seam of one of your pumpkin sets.
Attach a twig to the glue.
Apply glue down the outer seam of a second set of pumpkins and attach that to the other side of your twig.
Spread your pumpkin layers out and add a little glue to where the two sides meet.
Finishing Up
Next, cut a piece of floral wire approximately 3″ long. Wrap approximately 2″ of that wire around a pencil to curl it.
Wrap the remaining 1″ of the wire around the twig.
Now your pumpkin is complete and ready to add to your holiday decor!
Make as many pumpkins as you like, until you have a whole garden of pumpkins in various colors and patterns!
These pumpkins are the perfect size for place setting decorations.
You can find the printable PDF file at the end of this post. However, if you have a Cricut or Silhouette, grab the SVG file here – Free 3D Paper Pumpkins SVG file
If you use the SVG file, open it up in your design software and adjust the pumpkin size to 3.2 width and 2.51 height. Of course, this can be adjusted up or down based on your liking. Select the pumpkin SVG and fill your design space with the pumpkin template before cutting out your pumpkins. After all of your pumpkin pieces have been cut out, follow the instructions above to create your 3D pumpkins.
There you go! It’s as easy as that to recreate these adorable pumpkins. Click the button below to grab the free printable template.
