Ahh! My youngest starts Kindergarten this year and it makes me so sad! My kiddos are growing up way too fast. She’s super excited and ready to make new friends and learn tons of amazing new things though. This Back to School House craft was the perfect activity while we counted down the last days of summer. And if you’re looking for some fun back to school themed books, I’m sharing a roundup of my favorites at the end of this post.
Back to School House Printable Craft
I just love how this old-fashioned school house craft came out! The end product is super adorable and the kiddos had so much fun with this project.
This is another craft that uses supplies you probably already have on hand. Before you begin, gather up the following:
Printable House Template
Download the school house template and, using your colored construction paper, print out each page on it’s corresponding color. After printing each page out, carefully cut out your house pieces.
Using a glue stick or white craft glue, begin gluing the pieces of your house together. Use the photos below as a guide.
Start with the bushes, adding one to each side of the house, then center the steps at the bottom of the house.
Next, add the roof pieces, steeple, window and bell.
And finally, glue the hinges to the back of the door before adding the door to your house. Then add the windows, window boxes and school sign.
Let the glue dry and your schoolhouse is complete!
Of course, if you want, you can leave off the steeple and the school sign to create a regular house, using any color you want for the base of the house.
