Frankenstein Windsock Printable Craft

Who’s ready for another awesome Halloween craft?! I wanted a festive, kid-friendly project that could double as home décor, adding a fun pop of spooky charm to our space. This Frankenstein Windsock Printable Craft turned out to be the perfect mix of creative play and Halloween magic! He’s just the right balance of spooky and cute, and the kids couldn’t get enough of crafting their own little monsters. This easy activity is perfect for classrooms, parties, or family craft nights.

Frankenstein Windsock Printable Craft

Isn’t he just the cutest? We loved how our Frankenstein turned out so much that we couldn’t resist creating a matching friend to hang beside him. These windsocks instantly transformed our porch into a Halloween-ready display, and they look amazing when the breeze catches the streamers. The kids loved watching their handmade monsters dance in the wind!

As with most of our printable crafts, this one is quick and simple to recreate—especially when using the free printable template available at the end of this post. Whether you’re crafting at home, in the classroom, or at a Halloween party, this DIY project is a hit with little ones. To get started, gather your supplies:

Cardstock or construction paper (we used two shades of green, plus white, grey, pink, yellow, red, and black—but feel free to get creative!)
Black marker
Scissors
Glue stick or craft glue
Green streamers
Printable template (click the “Download” button at the end of this post)

Directions:

Download and print the Frankenstein template. Regular printer paper works fine, but for best results, use light-colored cardstock—it gives the windsock more durability for hanging.

Trace the pieces from the printable template onto your cardstock or construction paper and carefully cut each one out. Use the sample image as a color guide, or let kids pick their own fun color combinations for a unique look.

Cut one piece of green paper and trim about an inch off the top. You’ll use this strip later to make the handle for your windsock. Glue the face pieces—eyes, nose, mouth, and hair—onto one sheet of green paper, using the reference photo below for placement. Trim any excess around the mouth or edges to keep it clean and even.

Once the face is assembled, glue a second green sheet behind it as shown below. This gives the windsock extra sturdiness and a finished look. Loop the paper into a cylinder and glue or tape the ends together to form the main body.

Next, glue the one-inch strip you cut earlier inside the top of the windsock to form the handle. Make sure it’s secure enough to hang.

Then, attach your streamers along the bottom inside edge—alternate the lengths to give your Frankenstein extra character and movement.

Finally, use a black marker to draw stitches, scars, or even a little lightning bolt to personalize your monster’s face.

Once dry, your windsock is ready to hang and show off! These look fantastic indoors near windows, along porches, or in classrooms for Halloween displays.

Just a quick reminder: this craft is for indoor or covered use only—avoid hanging it anywhere it might get wet, as paper crafts don’t mix well with rain.
