For many, Mother’s Day may look a little different this year, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still make Mother’s Day special for all the great Mother’s in our life!

This printable pillow box is a cute way to present Mom with a collection of her favorite treats or other fun gift.

There are two versions of this printable pillow box. The first one is already completed for you. Simply print, cut, and glue.  The second version of this printable allows you to color in your pillow box, personalizing it and making it extra special.  So choose which one you want to do and gather up your supplies accordingly.

The printable template can be found at the end of this post. You’ll also need paper to print it out on. I used regular printer paper, but you can use white cardstock if you prefer. You’ll also need scissors and some adhesive (glue, glue dots, etc).  And of course, if you’re using the coloring page template you’ll need something to color it with – crayons, colored pencils, etc.

If you want to color in your pillow box, do that first. Get creative with it! Regardless of which version of the template you choose to use, be sure to fill in the To and From field before gluing the box together. Otherwise, writing on it will be a little more difficult.

When you’re ready, carefully cut out the template.

After cutting, carefully score the dotted lines, starting with the straight lines.

Next, score along the curved ends.  I scored mine by using the unsharpened end of a pencil.

Turn your template face down.  Starting on one end of the dotted line and slowly moving to the other end, place the pencil end on the dotted line and gently lift up the paper, creating a small crease at the pencil.

Continue doing this until all of your ends are creased.

After all of your dotted lines have been creased, you’ll add adhesive to the straight flap and glue it to the opposite end of the pillow box.  You can a glue stick or craft glue. Whatever you have on hand. I had some of this Elmer’s Dot Runner and it worked really well.

Let the glue dry if needed, then carefully fold in one side of your pillow box.  Now it’s time to begin filling it!

There are so many options when it comes to filling up this gift box:

  • Grab her favorite candy, such as Hershey kisses, Reeses, etc. (use the fun-size versions if needed)
  • Make a stationary gift set by adding some cute sticky notes and mini pen
  • Gift cards
  • Cash
  • Jewelry
  • Earbuds
  • Mom’s favorite Chapstick
  • Fuzzy socks
  • hot coco packets
  • photos
  • stamps, ink or other small craft supplies
  • Makeup
  • Cute stickers
  • Travel-sized lotions or hand sanitizers
  • Or simply add a sweet, hand-written note! We promise, Mom will love it!

Really, the ideas are endless and we’d love to hear what you do with these Pillow Boxes, so be sure to send us your ideas!

After filling your pillow box, carefully fold in the flaps to close your gift box.

And that’s it! Your pillow box is ready to go. The greatest thing about this gift box is that you can make this as expensive or as frugal as you want. Adding in a nice piece of jewelry or a simple hand-written note. No matter what you put in it, Mom is sure to love it!

Also, this Pillow Box can be used for gifts for Grandparents, Aunts, etc. Anyone who needs a little recognition for being the awesome Mother figures they are!
