Pirate Girl Line Study Printable Activity

If you’ve taken an art class or two you probably remember doing some sort of line study assignment. They were always some of my favorites projects. So for Halloween, we’ve put together a series of Line Study art projects to entertain the kids. There are six Line Study projects total and we are going to start off the series with this Pirate Girl Line Study Printable Activity.

Pirate Girl Line Study Printable Activity

To recreate this line study project, you’ll need just a few simple supplies:

Construction Paper (or cardstock)
Fine Tip Black Marker
Scissors
Glue
Crayons, Markers or Colored Pencils

Start by downloading and printing out the pirate girl template found at the end of this post. Then begin drawing lines in each of the separate grid areas, paying close attention to keep the lines within each grid.

Don’t draw any lines in areas you want to keep white, such as the eyes.

You can keep your line pattern simple, like we did, or you can really mix things up with some wild and crazy patterns!

Keep filling in each grid until you’re happy with your line study project. After each grid is complete, grab your colors and start filling in your character with bold colors!

After coloring in your pirate, cut the excess border off of the template and glue your finished project onto cardstock or construction paper. We used black, but you can use any color you want.

These would make great Halloween cards too! Simply print them at half size to create unique Halloween cards or postcards to give to family and friends.
