Printable Easter Bunny Craft

One year during Easter, my kids and I decided to make a little bunny village in our backyard. We used branches, leaves, and grass to build tiny houses and a maze of paths for our new furry friends.

As we were working, a few real rabbits hopped into our yard and joined in on the fun. My kids were thrilled to see the bunnies interacting with their creations, and it made for a magical moment.

The best part, however, was when my son decided to dress up as the Easter Bunny himself. He put on a pair of bunny ears and a fluffy tail and hopped around the yard, leaving little chocolate eggs hidden in the bushes for his sister to find.

But as my son was getting into character, he accidentally hopped a little too close to one of the real bunnies. The bunny, startled by the sudden movement, took off running with my son in hot pursuit.

I watched as my son ran around the yard, chasing after the bunny in his bunny costume, with his sister giggling uncontrollably in the background. It was a hilarious sight to see and a memory we still laugh about today.

After the chase, we settled back into our bunny village and enjoyed some hot cocoa while admiring our handiwork. The real bunnies had scampered off by then, but we knew they would be back next Easter to join in on the fun.

As we packed up for the night, my daughter turned to me and said, “Mom, this was the best Easter ever!” And I couldn’t agree more.

We reminisced over that memory while making this printable Happy Easter sign.

Isn’t he cute?! And you can customize him, using any colors you want to match your home decor. He makes a great gift as well!

Supplies Needed

To get started with this project, you will need a few basic supplies, including:

  • Free printable template (found at the end of this post)
  • Markers
  • Glue stick
  • Scissors
  • White cardstock or heavy weight paper (recommended for printing the template)

Customizing Your Bunny

One of the best things about this Easter bunny craft is that you can customize it to match your home decor. You can choose any colors you like for the bunny’s ears, feet, and nose. This makes it a perfect addition to your Easter decorations, whether you prefer pastel shades or bold and bright colors.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Now that you have gathered all your supplies let’s dive into the step-by-step instructions:

Step 1: Print the Template

Start by downloading and printing out the free printable template provided at the end of this article. We recommend using white cardstock or heavy weight paper for best results.

Step 2: Color the Page

Use your markers to color the page with the ‘Happy Easter’ sign. The ovals at the top of the page are the bunny’s ears, while the ovals at the bottom are the pads of the bunny’s feet.

Step 3: Cut Out the Template Pieces

Carefully cut out all the template pieces, including those you just colored in. Make sure to follow the lines as closely as possible for a neat and tidy result.

Step 4: Glue the Ear and Foot Pieces

Use your glue stick to attach the colored ear pieces to the larger ear pieces of the same shape. Then, attach the colored feet pieces to the big circular paw pieces.

Step 5: Assemble the Bunny’s Head and Body

Now it’s time to assemble the bunny’s head and body. First, glue the ears to the back of the head. Then, color in the nose and tongue and glue the head to the large body piece.

Step 6: Attach the Sign

Next, glue the sign under the bunny’s chin.

Step 7: Attach the Feet

To finish off the bunny, glue one paw on the top of the sign, one to the right of the bunny’s chin, and the other to the left, as shown in the image above. Finally, attach the big feet to the bottom.

Step 8: Display or Gift Your Bunny

Allow your bunny to dry completely, and then it’s ready to display or gift to someone special.
