Pumpkin Treat Bag Paper Craft

These treat bags are super easy to create and they look great when complete. To get started on this Pumpkin Treat Bag Paper Craft, first gather up a few basic supplies.

List of Supplies:

  1. Colored craft papers
  2. Craft glue
  3. Pencil
  4. Scissors

As always, you can get creative with this as you want.  We used orange-colored craft paper, and those are the colors we will refer to in the instructions below, but feel free to make purple pumpkins, blue pumpkins, pink pumpkins, or a whole rainbow of pumpkins to match your decor, event, or just because!

After selecting your craft paper colors, follow the steps below to recreate your paper pumpkin bag.

Instructions:

Select orange-colored craft paper for the pumpkin and paper bag, using two different shades of orange-colored paper. I’m using a piece of paper that is 6 inches X 9 inches for the bag. However, you can adjust this size, smaller or larger, so long as you keep the ratio the same.

Then fold the paper in half, lengthwise, leaving a cm flap up at the top.  Fold over the cm flap and use glue to attach the open sides close, as shown below.

Fold up 2 inches of the paper from either of the open ends.

Open the part you just folded up, at the center, and flatten sides as neatly as possible.  You’ll want it to look like the photo below, forming 2 triangles on both sides.

Take the top section of the part you just folded and fold the pointed end towards the center, again using the photo below as a guide.

Next, fold the bottom side up towards the center and overlap it with the previous section you folded. Apply glue on the folded parts to close that end (this is the bottom side of the paper bag).

See how your folded bag bottom has created two square shapes, one on each end of the bottom? Fold each side in, essentially folding each square piece in half and creating a crease on both sides of the bag.

Open the bag, fold your creased sections in and and flatten the bag neatly, as shown.

Pumpkin

Now on to the pumpkin shape!  Use your scissors to cut 2 curved borders along the top side of the paper bag. Trace the pumpkin, vine and stem patterns on colored craft papers and cut them out nicely.

Attach the patterns on the paper bag to complete the pumpkin treat bag craft.

Allow everything to dry and your Pumpkin Treat Bag Paper Craft is complete! Be sure to make extras to pass out to friends or display around the house.
