My daughter LOVES Toy Story! And she has just about all of the characters from the movie, from Bo Peep to Slinky Dog. So of course, we just had to make some Toy Story ornaments for the Christmas tree! We made 4 different characters, starting with this Woody Toy Story Christmas Ornament.
Woody Toy Story Christmas Ornament
Isn’t it super adorable?! I love the way it came out and the printable template makes it easy to recreate.
First, gather a few simple supplies:
Printable Template (found at the end of this post)
Cardstock (we used white, brown, yellow, tan, blue, and red)
Glue
Scissors
Glitter (optional)
Ribbon or Twine
Using the instructions listed at the top of the each template page as a guide, print your pattern onto the colors of cardstock you want for each piece. After printing out your template pages, carefully cut everything out.
Using glue, begin assembling your ornament. Start with the large, round shirt pattern and glue the “pants” to the bottom as shown below.
Glue the red handkerchief to the top. If you’re using glitter, apply a thin layer of glue to the handkerchief and sprinkle on red glitter. Shake off any excess. Add two small dots of glue to the button areas. Sprinkle on gold or yellow glue and shake off the excess again.
Next, you’ll want to add the belt along the top of Woody’s “pants.’ You can add glue to the belt buckle as well. Alternatively, you could use markers to color in the belt buckle and shirt buttons instead.
If you’re using glue, allow everything to dry before continuing. Once everything is dry, glue on the vest pieces as shown.
If you want to use the Mickey ears, glue them on next, positioning them to the back of the ornament as shown.
Finally, glue on the hat and star, adding glitter to the star if you choose.
Allow the glue to dry completely. When your ornament is completely dry, turn the ornament over and glue a looped piece of ribbon or twine to the back, center top of the ornament.
If you want, cut an additional circle out to glue over the ribbon (where it attaches to the ornament) to hide it.
Once your loop is dried, your ornament is complete! Ready to get started? Click the button below for the free Woody Toy Story Christmas Ornament template.
